Peskov also recalled that the advisor to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, referred to this a week ago at a briefing, and detailed that the initiatives will be linked to the humanitarian, economic, financial, parliamentary and other spheres.
Ushakov said that Russia is considering the launch of new formats of interaction in the aforementioned sectors, as well as in nuclear medicine, geology and climate, among others, as achievements of its Presidency in the group.
Russia assumed on January 1st the rotating presidency of the BRICS group for 2024, starting with the admission of new members.
Russia plans to organize more than 250 events in 11 regions this year under its presidency, including the Summit, which will take place in the Russian city of Kazan from October 22nd to the 24th.
