At a press briefing on the organization’s 7th assembly, to be held on November 4-5, ISA Director-General Ajay Mathur stated that this initiative is a revolutionary movement in all countries who are reshaping the energy landscape and the planet’s future.
The Alliance is carrying out a cooperation program with Cuba that includes setting up a center to support projects and agreements, not only in the Caribbean nation but also in other countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region, he said.
Responding to a question from Prensa Latina, Mathur stressed that the greatest benefit of this cooperation could result in reducing the use of fossil fuels and, consequently, the price of electricity services.
ISA’s Regional Programs Head for Latin America and the Caribbean, Hugo Morales, told this news agency that the organization has focused on supporting Cuba’s initiatives related to the use of solar energy.
