During Monday’s broadcast of his program “Con Maduro +,” the president affirmed that the new assessing request, as mediators before the coup d’Etat underway in the neighboring nation, is a serious and professional proposal that will soon be officially answered.
The said Forum, held on October 10 and 11, was convened by the “Pedro Gual” Higher Diplomatic Studies Institute (IAEDPG), the “Simon Bolivar” Institute, and the Foreign Ministry, with more than 60 participants, who analyzed and debated the situation in Colombia.
Those meetings were held in Caracas, and mediated by the Bolivarian Republic and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
Additionally, the member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) were present.
Maduro recalled that they received a request from his Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, to help achieve peace in Colombia and they have done so prudently, not only practicing microphone democracy but also without meddling in that country’s internal policy.
