Whether it is the ancient Silk Road or the current technological one, India’s only mission is to connect the world and open new doors to progress, the head of Government said on Tuesday at the inauguration of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024 of the International Telecommunication Union at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Modi noted the importance of establishing a global framework for digital technology and urged institutions to recognize it as fundamental to global governance.
He referred to the need to create an international regulation and spoke of the borderless nature of digital tools and applications.
The head of Government highlighted international collaboration to combat cyber threats and the collective action of global institutions.
The Indian prime minister called on the WTSA to take a proactive role in creating a secure digital ecosystem and channel for telecommunications.
