DPRK rejects UN report on human rights

Pyongyang, Oct 15 (Prensa Latina) The Korean Association for Human Rights Studies (AEDHC), announced its rejection to the latest report of the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

In a statement, the AEDHC denounced that the document of the “Special Rapporteur” brutally discredits the policy of the DPRK to ensure true human rights and its real state in the country.

The report, which was distributed as an official document during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, is permeated with false data such as “forced disappearance and return”, “torture and ill-treatment in detention facilities”, and “oppression of freedom of movement and expression”, AEDHC said.

The North Korean institution also pointed out that the UN document even questions the normal legislative activities that are part of the internal affairs and the exercise of sovereign rights of a sovereign state.

The AEDHC totally rejects the above-mentioned report, which is the product of the conflicting anti-DPRK intrigue of the United States and the West, calling it the document of the most notorious political demagogy, with the unhealthy intention of defaming the dignified DPRK. The act constitutes a cynical and unforgivable violation of sovereignty and interference in internal affairs, the note exposed.

We will never tolerate the intriguing anti-DPRK campaign of the hostile forces, tending to slander the socialist regime centered on the masses of people who are the life and cradle of all the Korean people. We will firmly defend their rights and interests, the text concludes.
