Returnees from Lebanon and Syria arrive in Venezuela

Caracas, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) A group of 44 returnees arrived Monday in Venezuela from Lebanon and Syria, official sources informed.

The 39 Venezuelan citizens and sie4x Lebanese left Lebanon after their residence areas came under attacks from Israeli troops, forcing them to leave.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yvan Gil, posted on Telegram, “We are very happy to welcome our Venezuelan compatriots who have returned from Lebanon to their Homeland, after been displaced by the attacks of the genocidal Israeli Zionism.”

The senior diplomat pointed out that “today, they are finally safe;” therefore, we celebrate their return, as well as the donations sent by the Bolivarian people and Government to the Lebanese who sought refuge in Syria.

On Sunday, a Conviasa plane arrived in Syria loaded with some 14 tons of food, medical and relief supplies donated for the Lebanese refugees in that country.

Upon arrival on Monday at the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia, La Guaira State, the Venezuelans and Lebanese, children included, were received by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, and the Lebanese Ambassador here, Elias Lebbos.

The deputy minister highlighted efforts by President Nicolas Maduro to guarantee the safety of nationals, adding that today they have been received with great joy.”
