Salvadorans in the U.S. prefer Kamala Harris

San Salvador, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) The migratory issue weighs today in the preferences of Salvadoran emigrants regarding the Democratic or Republican candidates in the United States elections, in November. A survey of the Center for Citizen Studies (CEC) of the Francisco Gavidia University (UFG) asked Salvadorans living in the U.S. “With which candidate for the presidency of the United States do you sympathize more in the upcoming elections of November 5th?

Some 35.5 percent of the interviewed said they preferred the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris against 15.8 percent who favored Republican Donald Trump.

The survey was carried out between September 25 and 30 among 1,224 people aged 18 and over, with a margin of error of 2.8 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.

For Salvadorans, with an emigrant population in U.S. territory of more than two million people, immigration policy is less convenient if Trump wins, whose aggressive policies demonize those who migrate to the U.S.
