The Chinese delegation from Deqing, Zhejiang province, was received by the Vice President of the Republic, Felix Ulloa, who discussed projects to strengthen cooperation in geo-space technology and explore new business opportunities.
The visiting delegation was led by the ambassador here, Zhang Yanhui; the secretary of the Communist Party of China of Deqing County Committee, Wang Bo; and the party secretary of the city of Xinshi, Chen Xingjiang, who stressed that El Salvador is moving towards innovation, technology and connectivity.
Although the ongoing negotiation of a Free Trade Agreement was not discussed, Chinese support for projects such as the National Library, the La Libertad dock and the water treatment plant at Ilopango Lake, among other contributions of China, was highlighted.
During the meeting, local authorities discussed key projects being promoted by the country, such as the modernization of the Ilopango aerodrome and the construction of the Pacific Airport, El Salvador newspaper reported.
The newspaper also added that the delegations discussed economic transformation, including the adoption of bitcoin as legal tender and the legal framework that guarantees security.
