The Caribbean team completed its unbeaten journey through the preliminary phase with a 2-0 victory (7-1 and 2-1) against Chinese Taipei, the country that leads the world ranking of the specialty.
With this victory, the Cubans led their group with a balance of 5-0 and advanced to the next segment of the competition escorted by Venezuela (4-1) and Taipei (3-2).
In the other group, the samurais (5-0) qualified together with France (4-1) and Mexico (3-2), rivals in addition to the current champions in the next round. Tomorrow’s matchday also includes Mexico vs. Chinese Taipei and France vs. Venezuela.
On the same day, France vs. Taipei, Venezuela vs. Japan and Cuba vs. Mexico will then face each other, leaving only Friday’s matches to decide the four medal contenders.
