The Italian-Cuban Friendship Association (ANAIC) published on social media an expression in which one of the most significant Italian singer-songwriters, Francesco Guccini, points out that after Che’s death, “you, reactionaries, are trembling” because “his thoughts are with us.”
Among the initiatives developed in this nation on this historical date, a commemorative broadcast on the ItaliaxCuba channel on YouTube stands out, in which tribute is paid to Che.
This 20-minute special program includes speeches by ANAIC members; Indira Martinez, daughter of revolutionary fighter Jose Maria Martinez Tamayo, who died along with Che in Bolivia; and messages from the heroes of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez.
ANAIC Secretary Walter Persello expressed that 57 years after his death, Che is remembered as a unique figure whose ideals are present and inspire new generations to struggle.
“The example of someone who gave his life for a revolutionary goal, which is the highest one can expect, is in force in Latin America and the world,” Persello said.
