The deputy pointed out that the basis of relations with Russia has been the historic brotherhood, solidarity, harmony and respect, together with the principles of the defense of peace, sovereignty, the right to self-determination and non-interference in the internal affairs of states. “In practice, we have been experiencing a deepening of our relations and a rapprochement of our peoples in all economic, social, political and cultural spheres,” she said.
Alonso added that the National Assembly is celebrating the 80th anniversary of diplomatic ties with Russia, which will be commemorated on December 12th, through the parliamentary friendship group and the commission for inter-parliamentarian cooperation with the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
These activities began on July 18th with the visit of the president of the State Duma of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, who was accompanied by a delegation, with which they ratified the commitment to strengthen relations.
In her speech, Alonso considered that Moscow develops a vital role in promoting multilateralism and mutually beneficial cooperation, and pointed out that Russia leads a major struggle for the deconstruction of an unequal world, where imperial forces want to impose their malignant actions in order to root discriminatory, fascist and neo-fascist ideas and practices in humanity.
Arling Alonso also stated that such actions are reflected in the genocide and extermination of entire civilizations in various parts of the planet. “Given this reality, we, as a National Assembly, want to reaffirm our commitment to continue working together with Russia, China, Iran and other sister peoples and governments, without resting until we achieve a fair, communicative, inclusive, peaceful world, where the dreams, desires and development of all nations become a reality,” she stressed.
