Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stressed that Beijing is opposed to any escalation of tensions and expansion of conflicts in the region.
“We call on the parties involved to handle the situation calmly, rationally and responsibly,” she added.
She reiterated that China advocates regional stability and stressed that the international community, especially influential countries, has a responsibility to play a constructive role to prevent further escalation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repeatedly urged the relevant parties to refrain from any action that could aggravate the conflict.
According to recent reports, Israel threatened to carry out significant strikes against Iran, which could include key facilities such as oil production centers and nuclear plants.
In response, Tehran warned that it would respond forcefully to any aggression, which increases the risk of an even greater confrontation in the region.
Beijing has already expressed its rejection of Israel’s violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
In the opinion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the failure to achieve a ceasefire and fighting in Gaza is the root cause of the current round of unrest in the Middle East.
