Revolutionary Ernesto Guevara remembered in Argentina

Buenos Aires, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) With an exhibition on his life, Cubans and Argentines will pay tribute today in this capital, to the revolutionary Ernesto Guevara (1928-1967), on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of his assassination.

As part of the tributes to the Heroic Guerrilla, documents, photos, biographical data and testimonies will be exhibited at the Cuban embassy in this nation, which make up the traveling project “Cuando Ernesto soñó al Che” (When Ernesto dreamed Che).

The initiative, organized by researcher Dario Fuentes, aims to delve into the path of formation and transformation of one of the main figures of the Cuban Revolution.

Searches and encounters are internal processes that go far beyond the kilometers and years lived. Ernesto sought himself, and he found himself. He traveled to grow, to evolve. He exposed himself to reality and turned it into a tool for transformation: first individually, then collectively, Fuentes pointed out in the invitation to the exhibition.

The companions changed, but the objective was the same: the search and the encounter. Mexico was a turning point in his life. Summoned as a doctor by another young man little older than him, but with great leadership experience, named Fidel (Castro, 1926-2016), he boarded the Granma yacht to reach Cuba. Shortly after the revolutionary triumph, as a representative of the government, he undertook two major tours around the world to present the new socialist experience, he added.

He also stressed that Guevara’s purpose was to defend the process initiated on January 1, 1959 in the most important forums.

The last two great expeditions were carried out in character and with false passports. The one to Tanzania and the Congo, with glasses, elegant suit and hat. And the last one, to Bolivia, adding years with a marked baldness. If we get mystical, the final trip was forced by murder, as the graffiti on the frame of the entrance door to the museum in La Higuera says: “Through this door a man passed to eternity”, he affirmed.
