According to the sports website Jit, the official met during the day with experts from the National Anti-Doping Organization of Cuba, including its director, Dr. Yahumara Castro.
León learned about the programs on this field implemented by the Organization in Cuba, which focuses on education to prevent the consumption of prohibited substances.
It was the first of the WADA representative’s visits here, where he will also visit Esfaar Cerro Pelado, and the national volleyball and gymnastics schools on Wednesday. The expert will conclude his tour at the Giraldo Córdova Cardín high-performance school, a facility that hosts, among others, the national athletics, taekwondo and aquatic teams.
He will also meet with the first vice president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Raúl Fornés, whom he will brief on his Cuban sojourn.
