Putin to meet Armenian prime minister at BRICS Summit

Moscow, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) Russian President, Vladimir Putin, informed on Tuesday that he is meeting with Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinian, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan in October.

The Russian leader held a face-to-face conversation on Tuesday with the Armenian Prime Minister in the Kremlin, the press service of the Russian presidency reported.

We will hold bilateral meetings and have the opportunity to talk with many colleagues from several dozen countries who plan to participate in this endeavor, Putin said regarding the future summit.

The Russian head of State also revealed that “in early October in Yerevan (the capital of Armenia), a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) took place.”

“Trade and economic relations between Moscow and Yerevan are developing vigorously, very successfully, last year the trade turnover reached 7.4 billion dollars, and in the first half of this year, it multiplied by 2.5, exceeding 8.3 billion dollars,” the president noted.

According to the Russian leader, at the current pace trade this year might reach between 14 and 16 billion dollars,” which represents “a record figure.”

We have to recover some lost points, related to cooperation in the educational field, Putin pointed out.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian president, on the sidelines of the Summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States, held a face-to-face meeting with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev.
