The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) condemned in a press release the killing of 167 journalists and 514 family members since the beginning of the new cycle of regional violence on October 7, 2023.
Israel has committed “the most extensive and cruel crime against journalists in history,” it warned.
The union provided evidence for 124 arrests of the sector’s workers and warned that two are still missing.
Some 1,350 digital violations and eight million hate speeches, inciting the killing of Palestinians and Arabs, were reported on social media.
Last week, a report published by the Syndicate’s Media Freedoms Committee monitored 185 crimes committed by that country’s security forces against Palestinian communicators in September.
