Damascus, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi Jalali and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reviewed on Saturday in this capital some ways to consolidate coordination to improve the humanitarian response to the displaced people in Lebanon.

The Syrian Executive explained in a statement that the two sides called for greater cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian Red Crescent Societies, and between non-governmental organizations and international agencies to provide as much assistance as possible to newcomers.

They urged to mobilize all possibilities to pave the way and ensure the return of these displaced persons to their localities.

Ghazi Jalali expressed that the government, complying with the directives of President Bashar Al-Assad, has provided all possible assistance to the Lebanese citizens, despite the complex economic conditions the country is going through due to the war and the blockade.

He thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for assisting the newcomers from Lebanon and for supporting the Syrian people in the past years.

Araghchi, in turn, considered that bilateral cooperation is of great importance, especially in overcoming the current circumstances, and stressed his country’s continued support for the Syrian people.
