Speaking at a reception at the Vietnamese diplomatic mission in Colombo, Amarasuriya acknowledged recommendations to facilitate the import of products from the Southeast Asian nation and encourage Sri Lanka’s companies to invest in Vietnamese territory, Ada Derana reported.
The prime minister also agreed to develop a program of cultural exchange activities to commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
Earlier, the Vietnamese ambassador reaffirmed the excellent relations between the parties, governments, and parliaments of the two countries and expressed optimism for an increase in mutual visits and high-level contacts.
Trinh Thi Tam also expressed hope that the Sri Lankan government will continue to provide favorable conditions for Vietnamese to live, work, and study in the South Asian country.
