Ernesto Guevara’s legacy and work highlighted in Argentina

Buenos Aires, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) Argentine-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Guevara (1928-1967) continues to be a paradigm of revolutionary, internationalist, and humanist, Cuba's Ambassador to Argentina, Pedro Pablo Prada, affirmed.

During a ceremony held at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, the diplomat highlighted the legacy of “the most universal Argentine fighter, one of the most significant figures of Latin America and the world.”

Prada also stressed the importance that the tributes to Guevara, on the 57th anniversary of his assassination, started at a public center of high studies.

He also recalled that 59 years ago, the historic leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016) read his farewell letter, “in which Che showed himself as the human being and extraordinary revolutionary that he was.”

Guevara believed that the youth were the basic clay for the transformation proposed by the Revolution. He considered that sacrifice on the front line should be an honor. Those of us who believe that the peoples have the right to freedom, peace, and solidarity, must defend the coherence between thought and action, he stated.

Macarena Videla, of the Student Participation Movement, in turn, stressed the importance of an active memory that allows us to take up the ideas of a great figure and think about what he would do nowadays.
