The diplomat told Prensa Latina that the women’s organization, chaired by United Nations Peace Ambassador Larisa Reijrudel, carried out a roundtable discussion to deplore US authorities’ measure to designate Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.
Valdes also commented that at Reijrudel’s suggestion, the meeting approved a letter condemning the US stance and requesting that Cuba be removed from the said list.
The text states that many people were surprised to learn of Washington’s infamous decision, as the memory of the Cuban doctors is still alive in Azerbaijan, when they flew here to help citizens in the most complex times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
