Nicaragua to build new photovoltaic plant with Chinese collaboration

Managua, Oct 3 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua will build a new photovoltaic plant in the department of Masaya with a capacity of 70 MegaWatts / hour, which will, with renewable energy sources, expand the generation capacity that the country has today.

According to the bulletin Informe Pastrán, the Enesolar 3 plant will be executed under the responsibility of Empresa Nicaragüense de Acueducto y Alcantarillado Sanitarios (Enacal) and will have an investment of more than 83 million dollars financed by China.

The construction will be in charge of China Communications Construction Company Limited (Cccc) and a counterpart from the Government, the source said.

It added that through presidential agreement 176-2024, President Daniel Ortega authorized the head of Enacal, Ervin Barreda, to sign with the Chinese company the construction project of Enesolar 3 for the operation of the Nicaraguan company’s systems.

Similarly, through agreement 177-2024, President Ortega authorized the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Bruno Gallardo, to sign the credit facility agreement with China Communications Construction Company Limited.
