The deputy director in charge of incidents at the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the National Institute of Public Health, Adelard Lufungola, told the Congolese Press Agency that vaccination was supposed to start on Wednesday, October 2, but the selected provinces did not have the optimal level of preparedness.
The analyses indicated that the logistical, financial, technical and coordination conditions have not reached the required 80% minimum preparedness, so it was decided to delay the start to adjust what is missing, Lufungola said.
He added that North Kivu, South Kivu, Tshopo and Equateur are showing the best progress, with 78% of preparedness, so in these territories it will be possible to start on October 5, he considered.
