The call, launched by the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC) on Monday, urges people not to remain indifferent and unite in defense of the Palestinian cause one year after the attack on the coastal enclave.
Throughout the week, several activities will take place to reaffirm the Cuban people’s strong solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have spread to Lebanon, where Tel Aviv’s warplanes have again carried out massive strikes in all regions, particularly the Bekaa and Beirut’s southern suburbs, in a bloody escalation with unpredictable consequences.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel condemned the Israeli occupying army’s incursions into southern Lebanese territory and called for ending its aggression’s impunity in the region.
On X, Diaz-Canel stressed that during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the risk of barbarism becoming naturalized is increasing in the Middle East.
Cuba has repeatedly advocated in international forums for establishing two States that would allow the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and have an independent and sovereign State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
