In a meeting with UN organizations and donor country ambassadors, the prime minister addressed the urgency of meeting the basic needs of Lebanese citizens, who are displaced due to the devastating war.

Mikati called for more aid to reinforce ongoing efforts to provide basic assistance to displaced citizens following the airstrikes on the southern regions, Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley.

The chief executive noted that some one million people have been displaced in one of the most dangerous periods in the history of this nation.

In the face of growing Israeli hostility, Lebanon ratified its commitment to implement Resolution 1701, adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in August 2006, for the country’s stability and peace.
