Likewise, it demanded the withdrawal of the troops deployed by Tel Aviv in Lebanese territory during the early hours of Tuesday morning, as part of its offensive against the Shiite militia-party Hezbollah.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry assured that the violation of Beirut’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Israel by launching a ground offensive constitutes an illegal invasion attempt.
The institution also added that this attack is aimed at undermining security and stability in the region and beyond.
In a statement, it indicated that ‘this dangerous invasion attempt could cause a new wave of migration and give rise to extremists around the world’, and according to the institution, ‘these events will also affect the countries that provide political support and weapons to Israel’.
It pointed out that the UN Security Council must enforce international law and take the necessary measures against this aggression, whose purpose is the occupation of Lebanon, ‘every crime committed by Tel Aviv is a blow to international law and the UN Charter’.
According to Ankara, ‘the main step that must be taken to restore peace in the region is to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza’, and bringing peace to that territory is the responsibility of all humanity.
The document comes hours after Israel began a new invasion of Lebanon as part of Operation Northern Arrows, the military campaign launched just over a week ago against Hezbollah targets.
