The Japanese Parliament appointed the new leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), 67-year-old Shigeru Ishiba, Prime Minister of that Asian country on Tuesday.
With an extensive political career, Ishiba succeeds Fumio Kishida, who had said on August 14 that he would leave his high position, due to the need for change in the LDP, after being involved in political-financial scandals.
