Speaking virtually at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, held in Yerevan, Armenia, on September 30 and October 1, 2024, the high functionary highlighted the intense work Cuba has done since holding the previous Council session in June in Belarus.
She informed that the Caribbean nation is represented in priority sectors such as industry, agro-industry, the medical-pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology, tourism, and special areas of development, in the Third Eurasian Economic Forum, which is held simultaneously with this meeting.
She reiterated the invitation to the Member States of the Union for government and business representatives of their countries to participate in the largest multisectoral trade exhibition event in Cuba and the Caribbean: The Havana International Fair, which will be held from next November 4 to 9.
The occasion will have a special significance, as we will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the conception of this event, which had its origins in 1984, thanks to the vision of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, she said.
She also thanked the EEU members for their support in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, and in the demand for the exclusion of the island from Washington’s unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
