Marcos made the pronouncement as he led the inauguration of the StBattalion (StB) Gigafactory, the country’s first lithium-ferrophosphate battery manufacturing plant, in a ceremony at the Filinvest Technology Innovation Park in the Tarlac region.

The Philippines is now poised to innovate, lead and become the go-to destination for high-impact investments, such as the Philippines’ first manufacturing plant for advanced iron phosphate batteries, which are often used in renewable energy and electric vehicles, the President said.

In his speech, Marcos praised the project for becoming a reality in record time, adding that this step will position the Philippines as a regional leader in clean storage and renewable energy.

Funded by Australian investment firm St Baker Energy, the StB was part of the investment commitments Marcos secured during his trip to Melbourne in March this year for the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.
