Speaking on the last day of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Jaentschke said that peace is justice, harmonious coexistence, respectful cooperation and the advancement of freedom, dignity and sovereignty of peoples.

“But Peace appears today as one of the most burning fantasies and daydreams. We do not live paths of peace, and of course, neither do we have the chance to see the just and lasting peace as the only path leading to a world of brotherhood, joy and solidarity”, he said.

In his opinion, no common answers are perceived or found to the fragilities and pains of societies, to abuses and aberrations, as well as to the aggressions of the powers and the unjust world order. “In all aspects it rather seems that we are suffocating more and more, despite our knowledge, experience, and the spirit that as human beings we must nurture, to better enlighten ourselves”, he pointed out.

The minister referred to the injustices, the search for supremacy, the thirst for domination, subjugation and barbarism, and how it all seems to worsen by perpetuating the slavery of humanity.

In mentioning the deaths caused by aggressions in the world, he affirmed that they should weigh on the conscience of merchants and traffickers of apocalyptic wars imposed by those who, with blood and fire, devastate human beings, cultures, lands, enslave, crucify and pretend to make life at their whim and convenience.
