This investiture celebrates the work of decades of consecration, placing Cuba’s name in a position of merit, the Honorary Director of that important institution of higher education, Daniel Martin, exclusively told Prensa Latina.

The Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company, led by Cuban dancer and teacher, will host the ceremony, which will be attended by Colombia’s former minister of culture, Patricia Ariza; Mexican Senator Jorge Carlos Ramirez, among other personalities from both nations. This year, the university, based in Puebla, has awarded the prestigious title to other Cuban artists such as pianist Frank Fernandez and musician Edesio Alejandro, in addition to the Spanish group Mocedades.

According to Martin, the Uahm has agreements with the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Havana and other educational institutions, collaborations that they hope to extend to the tourism sector.
