The Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Congalves, assured that the Executive will continue monitoring the energy situation throughout the country and it is expected that with the incorporation of more thermal and renewable energy, it will be possible to mitigate the electricity deficit in the national territory, he reiterated.
The CEO explained this Saturday that rationing could be reduced within the programmed time, after the improvement of hydrological conditions in power plants such as Coca Codo Sinclair, where “the available resources will be used to the maximum to generate energy”.
Meanwhile, the president of the National Assembly, Henry Kronfle, summoned the authorities of the electric sector to appear this week before the Executive in order to “take measures to stop this disaster”, he said in a video broadcast on his social network X.
“The inexperience, incapacity and improvisation of this government are the only ones responsible for the fact that this blackout crisis has reached levels never seen before,” Kronfle reiterated in his speech.
The statements of the head of the Ecuadorian Parliament were made after President Daniel Noboa sent to the Assembly an urgent economic bill to increase the national generation capacity.
