The purpose of the event, which will be held at the University of Havana, is to look toward the future so as to understand the challenges and opportunities that social movements face today.
“The Cuban Revolution represented a turning point in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean, inspiring millions of people to fight for social justice, sovereignty and self-determination of the nations,” the call highlights.
For this reason, the event seeks to recover the spirit that animated previous generations and connect it with the current struggles of social movements, which have historically been engines of change and democratic deepening, by promoting citizen participation and the construction of more just and equitable societies.
Within the framework of the event, various activities will be carried out such as training workshops, social dialogue tables, discussions, book presentations, seminars and meetings with social movements.
The forum is part of the “Platform for Social Dialogue Social Movements” and activism in Latin America and the Caribbean, promoted by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences since 2022.
