Through a press release, the Syrian Foreign Ministry informed that the meeting took place at the United Nations headquarters, during which the two ministers discussed bilateral relations and several issues on the agenda of the current session of the General Assembly.
They also urged to unify efforts to face common challenges such as foreign interference in the internal affairs of the countries and the blockade policies and the inhumane unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States on both Syria and Cuba.
The two nations established diplomatic relations on August 11, 1965 and for 59 years those relations were marked by brotherhood, solidarity and unchanging principled stances.
