After several days (South East, September 24 to 29) the attendees were able to get in touch with first-hand informations, both delivered by guides and experts, and observed in situ, in the most outstanding places for nature, adventure and rural tourism.
The event was attended by tour operators, travel agents and specialized journalists from 20 countries, including Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, China and the Netherlands, along with the hosts. The main organizer was the Ecotur travel agency, an entity of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of this nation.
Many of the tourism companies that work with Cuba sent their representatives to this sui generis meeting, where the essence was to get to know on the road the perfect scenarios for this type of vacation.
The organizers illustrated with the South East (Granma, Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba) by means of novelties that could be appreciated when integrating seven working groups, which in practice were well cohesive route teams.
The program covered 36 communities, 85 destinations (33 in Guantánamo, 32 in Santiago and 20 in Granma), with emphasis on the dialogues with both practitioners in the regions and farmers of different areas visited.
