A report published on the website of the newspaper, Il Sole 24 Ore, points out that hundreds of people gathered the day before in front of the Pantheon in Rome with the slogan “Stop Israeli genocide”, and with a minute of silence they remembered Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanese Resistance (Hizbullah), assassinated by Tel Aviv last Friday.
Maya Issa, leader of the Palestinian Student Movement, expressed in declarations to the press that Nasrallah’s death “is not at all a victory for Israel, because one leader dies, but 100 are born”.
Giulia Caló, representative of the Poder al Pueblo party, emphasized that “today we are in the streets because it is necessary to build an opposition in our country against the genocide of the Palestinian people and beyond”.
Also in Milan’s Piazza Loreto, a demonstration was held in memory of Nasrallah, with impassioned speeches by leaders of the Palestinian community, who reaffirmed their determination not to give up and to continue the struggle, according to the publication Contropiano.
“We are witnessing a real escalation and massacre by Israel against the Lebanese people, with almost 800 dead and thousands wounded and displaced,” a participant in the mobilization told the news outlet.
