In an official statement posted on its social network account X, the state portfolio conveyed its condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated its commitment to stand in solidarity with the Somali people in their fight against terrorism.
A car bomb exploded on a road near the National Theater in Mogadishu, approximately one kilometer from the Presidential Palace. This area has previously suffered similar attacks due to the presence of offices of senior government authorities.
So far, no one is claiming responsibility for the attack, but the extremist group Al Shabaab perpetrated such attacks in the vicinity of the presidential office.
Al Shabaab has been operating in Somalia as a terrorist organization, since the 2006 extinction of the so-called Islamic Courts Union, and who joined the radical group Al Qaeda in 2012.
