According to a note released in this capital, both men referred to the historic ties of friendship and the excellent state of relations between their peoples, parties and governments, while ratifying the common will to strengthen them.
At the meeting, Raul Castro stressed the importance of Vietnam’s active participation in Cuba’s National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.
The meeting was attended by Vietnamese Politburo member and First Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party Central Committee, head of the Foreign Relations Commission, Le Hoai Trung; and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.
Cuba was represented by the members of the Political Bureau, Minister of the FAR, General of the Army Corps, Alvaro Lopez Miera, and the Minister of the Interior, Major General Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas, as well as the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver.
