In four panels, various analysts will speak on History, territory and Palestinian heritage; human rights; UN resolutions and International Courts; and professional ethics, among other topics.

According to a press release from the organizers, until now there has been a limited or distorted approach to the situation, where the origins of the conflict and the systematic violence exercised against the Palestinian people for more than seven decades are invisible.

During the training and information day, also sponsored by solidarity groups, there will also be a tribute to press professionals murdered in the occupied territories.

As informed by the Palestinian Journalists Union, more than 130 press professionals and workers in the sector have died since October 7, 2023, some in the course of their work and others in their homes as a result of Tel Aviv’s bombardments.

Chile is the country with the largest population of Palestinian origin outside the Arab world, with more than 500,000 members of that community.
