This came out from a meeting held between members of that Colombian group, among them Senator Gloria Florez and Representative Gabriel Becerra, with Cuban legislator Elier Ramirez, with the participation of Cuban Ambassador to Colombia, Javier Caamaño.

The meeting’s aimed at establishing joint work mechanisms to reaffirm the commitment to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between both peoples.

In their meeting, the Group recognized the importance of friendship and solidarity that have characterized mutual relations throughout history and pledged to deepen those ties for mutual benefit.

They also expressed their will to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, facilitating the exchange of legislative experiences and best practices that will contribute to the institutional development of both sides.

They also voiced their will to work together for peace and the welfare of the peoples, promoting peaceful solutions to conflicts and fostering inclusion and respect.

In addition to rejecting the unilateral blockade that the United States has maintained for over 60 years against Cuba, the signatories of the document demanded that the Washington administration remove Cuba from the alleged States Sponsoring Terrorism (SST) list.
