The coordinator of the event, Antonio Rodriguez, said that the event will be attended by experts from a U.S. committee, led by the US President of the Society of Breast Surgeons, Michael P. Berry.

He pointed out that the workshop will be held on the 8th and 9th of next month at the Roberto Rodriguez Hospital, in the municipality of Moron, with the presence of imaging specialists, general surgeons, oncologists, anatomo-pathologists and gynecologists from all over the country.

He pointed out that lectures will be given on breast ultrasonography and cryoablation, a novel surgical technique, currently applied in highly developed countries and by means of which small-diameter breast tumors are detected, which contributes to an early and accurate diagnosis of cancer.

During the day, Cuban doctors together with US experts will carry out ultrasound training with patients suffering from the pathology and training in breast biopsies, which will contribute to the improvement of local specialists and will benefit those affected by the disease.
