Argentina’s central trade unions will hold a joint plenary session

Buenos Aires, Sep 24 (Prensa Latina) The Central de Trabajadores de Argentina (CTA) and the CTA Autónoma will hold a joint plenary meeting today with the aim of advancing in a reunification process to confront the Government's policies.

As stated by both organizations, the initiative arises 14 years after the division of the trade union organizations and in the midst of a strong offensive by the Executive of Javier Milei against different sectors and their workers.

During the last months, the two groupings called and participated in demonstrations against the measures of the leader of La Libertad Avanza, but now they confirmed the deepening of the existing ties.

It is evident the fractioning that exists in Argentine society and it is a strategy of power to make it effective also in the working class, the general secretary of the CTA Autónoma, Hugo Godoy affirmed.

We must carry out a task of historical responsibility, which is to sustain the conviction of resistance in order to set limits to this government that is carrying out a constitutional reform through vetoes and decrees, he added.

The way out must be emancipatory. Milei wants to dilute our nation and we must contribute with resistance capacity and proposals. This obliges our central organizations to enter into a coordination process for the unity of action plans, he added.
