The meeting, organized by the Central American Maritime Transport Commission, based in Nicaragua, will promote the exchange of ideas for the solution of regional problems related to port management and operations, the newspaper added.
The meeting will discuss maritime terminals of the host nation and others in the area, such as Panama, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico, the Board of Port Administration and Economic Development of the Atlantic Coast (Japdeva) added, quoted by La República.
Other topics of the September 23-27 meeting, which will bring together the region’s leading companies in search of port transformations, include security, infrastructure, decarbonization, smart ports and global innovation.
The program of the meeting also includes the contribution of port women to the industry, innovation and artificial intelligence, Japdeva’s sources told the local publication.
Press media commented that this event comes to the country at a very important time, due to the government’s efforts towards the development of the port sector through projects for the creation of a specialized cruise terminal, and other initiatives on marine tourism.
