The top Cuban diplomat ratified his country’s commitment to strengthen ties with the Persian nation.

Both agreed on the need to confront the arbitrary unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States against their countries, Rodriguez confirmed in a message posted on his X account. The Cuban minister arrived in New York the day before to participate in the high-level week of the 69th UN General Assembly, to begin on Sunday and run until September 30.

The grand event will bring together hundreds of world leaders at the United Nations headquarters with spaces dedicated to the promotion of sustainable development, the end of the use of nuclear weapons, the threat of rising sea levels, antimicrobials and the Summit of the Future.
