The top representative of Cuban diplomacy reported in his X account that during his stay he will promote multilateralism, peace and sustainable development for all nations.
Rodriguez explained that he will participate in the Summit of the Future and in the V National Meeting of Cubans living in the United States.
The new session began on September 10, two weeks before the high-level segment that will bring together more than 150 world leaders at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 22 and 23.
At the opening ceremony, outgoing President Dennis Francis handed over the iconic gavel announcing the start and end of the sessions to Philemon Yang, Cameroon’s former prime minister.
Yang assumed office ‘with all loyalty, discretion and conscience’ and assured that his mandate will focus on diversity for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for everyone everywhere.
