The document states: “To accept the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, coordinated with the interested federal state bodies and organizations, on the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The note specifies that the Russian president advised that the signing of the aforementioned treaty should be done at the highest level.
Some Russian media outlets highlighted that the occasion for the signing should be the next BRICS Summit in the city of Kazan, where the leaders of both countries will meet.
On June 19th, Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea also signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty.
