El Salvador and Cuba advocate strengthening relations

San Salvador, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) El Salvador and Cuba agreed today to work to strengthen relations between both countries.

Salvadoran Vice President Félix Ulloa received Cuban Ambassador Tomás Lorenzo Gómez on Thursday to exchange views on cooperation projects.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his country’s interest in collaborating with the Salvadoran side on issues of agriculture and health, contributing his experience to strengthen local capacities for these sectors.

During the meeting, various initiatives that are being advanced in the Trifinio region shared by El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, and coordinated by the Vice President, were also addressed.

In that area, projects are being carried out that will benefit local families in areas such as tourism competitiveness, food security, poultry and agricultural production, as well as access to water.

At the meeting, aspects were addressed regarding meetings that will take place at the so-called Thumb of the Americas, including a conference focused on the State and Democracy, related to the actions of President Nayib Bukele.

At this meeting, each state portfolio will provide updated information on its axes of work and how these influence the development of the country.
