The police forces of this ministry detected the day before in the Terminal of Moín, in the southwestern province of Limón, a container with the same number of packages with the drug ready to be sent to Belgium through the port of Antwerp, the newspaper El Mundo added.
The drug control units, border police and other bodies stationed in that port facility discovered the cocaine with the support of scanner techniques and the use of canines, concealed in the flour of a natural organic product such as cassava, the Minister of Security, Mario Zamora explained.
The national agents, he stressed, dealt “a severe blow against this important quantity of drugs seized from the drug trade, which reflects our country’s commitment to continue making maximum efforts against organized crime in the country”.
Most of the Costa Rican media on Sunday reviewed a report published by the U.S. newspaper The New York Times with a detailed inventory of drug trafficking and its consequences in this nation.
