Second wave of explosions in Lebanon reports casualties

Beirut, Sep 18 (Prensa Latina) Three dead and more than 100 injured is today the initial toll of a second wave of explosions of wireless devices in Lebanon.

Press reports informed that three people died as a consequence of the detonation of these communication devices in the city of Sohmor in western Bekaa.

For the second consecutive day, wireless devices exploded in the hands of their owners in apartments, vehicles and motorcycles, far from any military base or party headquarters.

Preliminary reports indicate that several lithium batteries exploded in homes, in addition to other devices throughout Lebanon.

Yesterday, an Israeli electronic assault killed 12 people and injured around 3,000 when wireless devices exploded in several villages in southern Lebanon, Bekaa and the southern suburb of Beirut.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Lebanese Resistance (Hizbulah) confirmed that at approximately 15:30 local time, several message receiving devices known as Pagers held by a number of workers in the movement’s various units and institutions detonated.

After examining all the current facts, data and information available, Hizbulah held Israel responsible for the criminal aggression and reaffirmed its response.

Lebanese security sources confirmed to the pan-Arab Al Mayadeen channel that Israel used a global company and a civilian agency with control over the cyber world and made the decision to carry out a deliberate mass murder in the country.

Denouncing the violation of national sovereignty, the Lebanese Council of Ministers called on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities in the face of this aggression.

The Foreign Ministry considered the manipulation of the wireless devices a dangerous escalation, in light of an increasingly intense discourse by the Israeli authorities to carry out an extended raid against Lebanon.
