On the instructions of Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib, Lebanon’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York denounced the death of four firefighters in the aforementioned village in the Nabatiyeh district while fighting a fire caused by Israeli raids.
Lebanon condemned the repeated, deliberate and unjustified Israeli aggressions against rescue and first aid workers, as well as health centers and hospitals.
At the same time, it called these attacks a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and UN resolutions.
Lebanon called on Security Council members to hold Israel accountable and to exert pressure by all possible means to comply with international laws and norms.
On September 7, four firefighters were killed in southern Lebanon after being attacked by an Israeli drone while working near the town of Froun.
Since last October, Israeli hostility against Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including journalists, rescue workers and members of the Civil Defense.
