President of Seychelles with broad agenda in Cuba

Havana, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) The president of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, is carrying out an extensive program of activities in Cuba, as part of his official visit that will last until September 20.

The president’s agenda includes official talks with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, with the president of the National People’s Power Assembly (parliament), Esteban Lazo, and with the Minister of Public Health, José Angel Portal.

Ramkalawan will also visit places of academic, historical and cultural interest, as well as health institutions.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, it is expected that during the Seychelles president’s stay, agreements will be signed to strengthen political and diplomatic ties and cooperation between the two countries.

The head of State arrived in the Caribbean nation on Monday at José Martí International Airport and was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez.

On April 12, 1978, Cuba and Seychelles officially established diplomatic relations, which are based on friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
